ANTITHESIS

I was in Chicago when I captured this photograph.  There are pairs of the same statues, but one is the opposite of the other.  For example, one statue is black, conveying shyness; the other is yellow and in a different position, conveying happiness and the breaking of the shell, so to speak.  These scupltues have subtle messages, but they are powerful, according to the way you look at them.  For example, the boy (far left) and the same person (far right) are opposite by showing introversion and gradual extroversion.  It takes time for a person to open up if they started out as quiet and reserved.  As I observed this outdoor art, I realized this pattern.  It shows that your personality is what you make of it.  Choice plays a huge role in who you want to be.  You can choose to be shy or extroverted, depressed or outgoing, and so on.  Opposites attract in a way that they become one.  Two opposite personalities are inside of you, and you have the choice of which one to express.
