What to Expect

Hiring James A. Vitullo Photography for your wedding involves a wonderful experience altogether.  With all the blood, sweat, and tears that get put into planning and executing all aspects of a wedding, I know how important a stress-free day and night are for you and especially when hiring a photographer.  My goal is to document your special day in a one-of-a-kind way while successfully capturing all details possible.  Leaving you with memories to cherish for years down the road and to have pride in showcasing them means I did my job right!  In order to meet your needs as your photographer, I need at least one hour of in-person conversation with just us three, over coffee, ice cream, or even a meal (on me).  This is key in making your wedding day experience the best it could be and making the best photos you’ll be happy with hanging on your wall.  Even if your wedding day doesn’t end up as successful as you wanted it to be, the weather isn’t ideal in terms of photography, or we’re simply running behind schedule, we can always talk about a session at some point after your date where you both can dress up again and we’ll get the shots you were hoping for.

The process with me starts with a FREE in-person consultation,  We get to know each other and I want to know all about your wedding day, from how you met to your reception details.  We will go over my portfolio and printed documents regarding an outline of questions I have for you, the package that fits you best, an agreement, and my general shot list.  Keep in mind you can always sign the agreement and pay the retainer right then and there.

Your engagement session comes next, which is where I can get to know you both more and truly get a sense of who you are, what you’re all about.  We get to figure out together what works and what doesn’t in terms of best angles and best ways to bring out real emotion between you two.  This is all about discovering this one-of-a-kind relationship you have with one another.  I’m all about the little things, and that’s a big part of this experience.

With your engagement photos comes the important use of them for your invitations and guest book.  All of my couples love to have that use for them, which is perfect!  If you have a more specific schedule for your wedding day, I would love to go over this then.

Now it’s your time, the time when all stress dissipates and the celebration of your love together becomes stronger than ever.  I will be capturing the little things, the special people you cherish, the true emotion, and I hope to enjoy it as much as everyone else there!
